Information regarding COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs constantly communicates and coordinates with the Ministry of Health and the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia regarding COVID-19 (Coronavirus) so as to provide timely and accurate information to the public and foreign nationals currently staying temporarily or permanently in North Macedonia, as well as those planning a trip to the country in the upcoming period.

Therefore, we hereby inform that there are measures and recommendations  in force which prohibit mass gatherings and both outdoor and indoor events for more than 1000 people in the next 14 days, as well as the attendance of spectators at all sporting events across the territory of North Macedonia in the next 30 days.

We also underline that all educational institutions are closed for the next 14 days, and during this period the use of any type of swimming pool is prohibited. It is particularly important to know that organised international bus transportation (bus, van, minibus, etc.) to high-risk countries, as well as to North Macedonia is prohibited.

We strongly recommend to avoid all travel to the high and medium-risk countries and the following link provides a list of those countries, in line with the WHO list (regularly updated and published on the Ministry of Health’s website: http://zdravstvo.gov.mk/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Spisok-na-zemji11.03.2020.pdf)

Any physical and legal entities that fail to comply with or violate the recommendations will be subject to punishment.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs continues to communicate with the diplomatic and consular missions of the Republic of North Macedonia whence information relevant to the countries affected by this virus is regularly updated.
